How to work a TCGplayer pull sheet.
A pull sheet is the list of every card you owe buyers right now. Working it well is the difference between one calm walk through your storage and forty minutes of flipping through boxes before work. Here's what the sheet is, why the order you pull and pack in matters, and how to set up storage so the walk stays short.
What is a TCGplayer pull sheet?
A pull sheet is a consolidated pick list for a batch of orders. Instead of handing you one packing slip per order and letting you make one trip per buyer, it collapses every order in the batch into a single list of cards to retrieve, with the quantity you need of each.
Exported as a CSV, the sheet carries the fields you'd expect for identifying a specific copy: Product Line, Product Name, Condition, Number, Set, Rarity, Quantity, SkuId, and Order Quantity. Two of those do the real work. SkuId is the only field that identifies a card unambiguously, since it pins down the exact printing and condition, and matching on name alone will eventually hand a buyer the wrong version of a card. Order Quantity is what lets you sort the pulled pile back into individual orders after the walk, so you can pull once and pack afterward instead of pulling per order.
There's also a footer row listing the orders contained in the sheet. It looks like noise, but it's the link between the pile in your hand and the stack of packing slips on your desk.
Where do you get a pull sheet in the seller portal?
Pull sheets come out of the orders side of the TCGplayer seller portal: you select the orders you're about to fulfill and generate the pull sheet for that selection, alongside printing the packing slips for the same batch. The exact menu wording and placement have moved around over the years, so check TCGplayer's current seller help articles rather than trusting a screenshot from a forum post, but the shape of the flow has stayed the same: pick a batch of orders, print slips, pull the sheet.
Batch size is your call. Pulling once a day for everything that came in overnight is usually faster than pulling every time an order notification hits your phone, because the whole point of the sheet is amortizing one walk across many orders.
Why does TCGplayer Direct care what order you pack in?
For Direct orders, it isn't just a suggestion. TCGplayer's Direct FAQ instructs sellers to pack products in the order indicated on the packing slip, because cards arriving out of order slow down processing on their end. The marketplace is specific about pack order because someone downstream has to reconcile your envelope against a slip, and an unordered pile makes that a search instead of a check.
That's a useful thing to know even for non-Direct orders, because it tells you what a well-run fulfillment step looks like: pull in the order that's fastest for your shelves, then reorder into slip order before anything goes in an envelope. Those are two different sequences, and trying to make one pass serve both is what turns fulfillment into a shuffle.
How should storage be organized so pulling is fast?
The sheet gives you a list of cards. What makes it quick to work is storage where every card on that list has a known location, so the list can be sorted into a route.
The layout that holds up is three levels: shelves hold boxes, boxes hold cards separated by dividers, and each divider marks off one intake event, usually one scan batch. Every copy then resolves to a short code (a shelf, a box, a divider) instead of a general area of the room.
The rule that keeps that code honest is orientation. Treat the front of a box as the side card faces point toward, the side closest to you when you open it, and the back as where card backs face. Divider one sits at the front, and every new divider is appended at the back. New intake always lands behind what's already there, never in the middle, so nothing gets renumbered and no existing location code goes stale when a buyout lands.
The corollary is that you don't need to sort a batch before it goes in the box. If the scanned order is the stored order, the order the cards happened to be in when you scanned them is the physical truth, and looking a card up is a lookup rather than a guess about which pile a past version of you would have put it in.
How do you walk a pick route instead of jumping around?
A pull sheet arrives in whatever order TCGplayer generated it, which has nothing to do with your room. Worked top to bottom, it sends you to shelf three, then shelf one, then back to shelf three. Sorting the same list by location instead turns it into one directional walk: shelf by shelf, box by box, divider by divider, front to back, never doubling back to a shelf you already passed.
A few things make that walk hold up in practice. Keep your hands free and the interaction keyboard-first, because you're standing with a card in one hand and a box open in front of you. Record the outcome for every line, not just the good one: missing, damaged, and skipped need to be as fast to mark as found, or you'll start silently fudging entries to keep moving, and the record stops matching the shelf. And do the slip-order regrouping after the walk is finished, when you're back at the desk with the pile and the printed slips, using the order quantity data from the sheet.
What happens when you can't find the card?
This is the failure the whole routine exists to prevent. When a card on the sheet isn't where it should be, the order gets canceled, and that cancellation is visible to the buyer. Buyers talk about it plainly: they place an order and get a cancellation a few days later because the seller can't find the card. It counts against your seller metrics, and it costs you a sale you had already won.
Most "can't find it" cancellations aren't inventory that walked off. They're inventory whose location was never really recorded, or was recorded once and then invalidated by a re-sort. A location system with no exceptions is what keeps the sheet's list and your shelves saying the same thing.
When do you not need any of this?
Honestly: if you're shipping a handful of orders a month out of a few boxes you know by heart, none of this pays for itself. Memory and a couple of alphabetized boxes work fine, and the overhead of maintaining location codes would cost you more time than the walk does.
The point where it flips is usually a specific one, and you'll recognize it when it arrives: the first weekend a few hundred cards land at once, or the first cancellation you had to send because a card you were certain you owned did not turn up. After that, the sheet stops being a list you read and starts being a route you walk.
